South East NSW has won the right to host the fourteenth Australasian Permaculture Convergence in Autumn of 2018.

This was a specific initiative that came out of Southern Harvest and SCPA-South East Producers joining together.  There is a large group of permaculture and permaculture-related groups in the region who are willing and able to pull the convergence vision together – a great example of ‘Connectivity’, which will be the convergence theme.

The bid consortium included:

  • Southern Harvest Association
  • SCPA-South East Producers
  • SAGE-Sustainable Agriculture Eurobodalla
  • Permablitz ACT
  • Bungendore Community Garden
  • Canberra City Farm
  • Turner Food Forest Project
  • Permaculture Wollongong Institute
  • Pip Magazine

The presentation team was by led by Robyn Rosenfeldt and included April Samson Kelly, Paul Kelly, Cally Brennan from Canberra and Phil Gall from Bermagui.

South East NSW, which incorporates Canberra, was selected because of ease of access, diversity in accommodation, urban and rural examples of permaculture, a range of venue options, and of course the diversity of regional food.

Many volunteers with many different skill sets will be needed to prepare for APC14.  A call out for volunteers will occur soon, but if you can’t wait, feel free to get in touch with us!
