The 2023 truffle season will be the 15]6th year we have celebrated truffle growers in the capital region with events and activities, and Southern Harvest Association will once again auspice the event program.
Canberra has an international reputation as a truffle producing area, and we are fortunate to be one of the only cities in the world where the legendary black truffle grows on the doorstep.

Annual Truffle Gala – Sat 5th August 2023
Expect all things truffled (with a few surprises thrown in) on our favourite night of the year, with our chef-customised 4-course menu with matching wines.
Our truffle partner, Blue Frog Truffles, will talk us through this season’s ups and downs and answer all your questions about this highly sought-after and fascinating edible subterranean fungus — dug out of the ground by dogs, no less!

Truffle Dinner – a second dinner has been released: 29 July
Embrace winter in the Canberra Region at our Truffle Dinner. Four stunning courses featuring Blue Frog Truffles from Sutton, beautifully paired with Poachers Vineyard wines.

Pialligo Truffles – Hunt and Feast – July 22nd 23rd 29th 30th
Unearth a new experience.
Join us for an extraordinary truffle hunt and feast experience, where adventure and decadence intertwine. Explore the truffle countryside of Pialligo Truffles, guided by expert hunters and their skilled canines. Witness the unveiling of freshly unearthed truffles, each one a testament to nature’s allure.
After the hunt indulge in a sumptuous feast where the renowned team from The Boat House will artfully infuse truffles into every dish. Immerse yourself in rustic luxury, enjoying the sheltered outdoor dining space at Pialligo Truffles, flanked by two fireplaces, and connecting with fellow connoisseurs in an unforgettable celebration of truffles.
Collaborative Truffle Dinner, Embrace Disability Group and Le Très Bon Thursday 29th June, 7pm
We, at Le Tres Bon believe that people with disabilities should be afforded equal access to education and learning experiences about local black truffles. Our special event on Thursday 29th June has been designed in collaboration with Embrace Disability Group, lead by Matt Morrissey and Katie Hancock. We will provide an appropriate learning environment and opportunity for work experience for people with disabilities wishing to pursue a career in hospitality. Furthermore, our dinner will facilitate a powerful way of changing community attitudes towards people with disability.
Truffle Hunt Simulations Demonstrations – Sat 1st & 29th July 2023, 10:00am – 12:30pm
Wayne and Gill from our local truffle partner, Blue Frog Truffles, will give you a demo amongst the vines of how truffle dogs actually sniff out the delicious and elusive Australian black truffles! Come with all your truffling questions and have them answered, before retiring to the restaurant for an exclusive 2-course lunch (featuring truffles, of course!).
Truffle and Wine Dinner – Fri 23rd June 2023
Join us at @themarion.au for an extraordinary evening that celebrates the finest local flavours. Experience a five-course truffle inspired menu paired with wines. Hear from @larkhillwine Winemaker Chris Carpenter, and Justin Haslam from @bluefrogtruffles. This is an exclusive event where The Marion, Lark Hill Winery and Bluefrog Truffle Farm come together to create an unforgettable culinary experience.
