Winter is a time of amazing abundance in the Canberra Region.

The Southern Harvest Winter Festival is a celebration of winter in all its richness –  bringing together local food, seasonal produce, growers, makers, artists, experiences and community connection in the heart of Canberra’s cooler season.

Held across three days in July, the festival showcases the incredible diversity, creativity and passion of our region through vibrant markets, curated food experiences, workshops, tours, live music and seasonal celebrations.

At its heart, the Winter Festival is about connection:
Connection to local food and producers.
Connection to the land and the changing seasons.
Connection between community, culture, creativity and shared experiences.

The festival creates opportunities for local businesses, farmers, artisans, chefs, makers and experience providers to come together and share what makes our region unique during winter.

This is part of the greater truffle season, running from the winter solstice for around 9 weeks, and plans to celebrate all the produce of the Canberra Region in winter.

Weekend workshops and activities around Canberra

Truffle Season 2026

Canberra has an international reputation as a truffle producing area, and we are fortunate to be one of the only cities in the world where the legendary black truffle grows on the doorstep.

A huge thank you to our wonderful sponsor –  Adapt Homes!

We are so grateful to have Adapt Homes on board as a sponsor of the Southern Harvest Winter Festival – and they are bringing something really special to the weekend that you are going to want to see for yourself.
Come and discover the not-so-tiny tiny home! The stunning Adapt Homes display will be on site from Friday through to Sunday, giving you the full weekend to wander through, explore every beautiful corner and imagine what life could look like if you made the leap.

And here is the part we are really excited about –  on Saturday afternoon, we are teaming up with the wonderful team at Sapling Yard for a wine tasting right at the tiny home. Picture this: a glass of beautiful local wine in hand, sitting out on your own little deck, the winter sun on your face – and suddenly the tiny home lifestyle makes a whole lot of sense.

Because really, is there a better way to imagine your dream home than to actually sit in it with a great glass of wine? Are you curious about the tiny home lifestyle? Wondering where they can actually go? Or looking for practical tips towards making your dream of owning a home a reality? Come and have a chat with the Adapt Homes team all weekend long – they will have all the answers.
