Life is feeling surreal right now, we’ve been sheltering inside either avoiding the heat and/or the smoke…our attention on the fire activity. Its hard to keep focused on the things that need doing to keep daily life functioning. With no feed in the paddocks the daily tasks around the farm can’t be ignored. It was hard to breathe tonight when we went out to feed the animals and my eyes were stinging (until I went back in for goggles). Nothing is getting done in the market garden, apart from watering. All our energy is going into preparing the property in case the fires reach us. So far we are safe and I’m hoping it stays that way. There is an immense amount of work to do when I can turn my attention back to the garden.
