Funds for Farmers and an Open Day at Mt Fairy: Baseline Measurements and Property Planning

The Farms with a Future program has funds for local farmers who attend a Ground Work Day in Mount Fairy on Monday 19 March.

Farms with a Future is run by SCPA-South East Producers which secured funding through South East Local Land Services to assist farmers to improve the soil quality, water retention and environmental biodiversity on their farms.

By attending a Ground Work Day and submitting your ideas for your farm property, producers will be in the running for $1,000 towards implementing their plans.

The next Ground Work day is at Three Gullies Farm, Mount Fairy on Monday 19 March, with property owners James Innes and Leisa Porter.

You will learn about:

  • Property history and future plans
  • Transect lines for soil testing
  • Pasture assessment using Quadrats
  • Baseline records using photographs
  • Services planning
