Boomerang Bags are coming to Bungendore and your help is needed.

Boomerang Bags is a community driven project that makes and circulates reusable shopping bags to help reduce the use of plastic. Boomerang Bags are made by volunteers (kids welcome) with second-hand and repurposed fabrics.

Donations of fabrics are being sought for the first sewing bee. Fabric, including offcuts and remnants, curtain material, clean tablecloths, sheets, pillowcases and t-shirts (larger sizes) are being collected by Christina Steele at the Bungendore Public Library. Cotton thread, pins and any other sewing materials are also welcome.

Sewing Bee Dates

Friday 14 July, 10-4pm at the School of Arts

Saturday 22nd July, 11-3pm at the Anglican hall (with the Southern Harvest Farmers Market).

Third date TBC but likely early Aug at the CWA Hall.

For more information about sewing bees and other activities, please join the Bungendore Boomerang Bags Facebook group, or contact Melissa at meljezzo@gmail.com.

Once the bags are ready, they will be available at the Southern Harvest Farmers Market.

This project is supported by the Bungendore Food Lovers Market, Wild Rose Organics, the Southern Harvest Farmers Market and QPRC.
