Southern Harvest Members’ Passata Day
with Scrumpers Garden and AWOL
July 10th 11am-4pm
Wamboin NSW
Join us for a community day of cooking passata, bottling tomatoes, hand making pasta and cheese, and sharing lunch!
During the Summer/Autumn abundance, Southern Harvest froze a lot of tomatoes that now need to be bottled to go out in our produce boxes and be sold in the member shop. Ruth of Scrumpers Garden will be leading us, with decades of experience in preserving the harvest, to cook and preserve all the frozen sunshine. The day will be hosted by AWOL (Another Way of Living) in their large country style kitchen with wood fired stove. This great space will be supporting us to cook all these goodies throughout the day with possible rocket stove back up and extending out onto the deck if necessary. All skill levels welcome – beginner, expert and everywhere in between.
Enjoy a delightful lunch, putting the pasta, tomatoes and cheese together with a few fresh herbs and garlic etc. Please bring along a side, drink, salad or dessert to share.
This is intended as a members community event, where we can share knowledge, food, labour and a community lunch. Ticket price for members is nominal and covers administration, insurance, staff and volunteers, If you are not a member and would like to join, the non-member ticket includes the cost of 1 year membership.
