Leyla- the face behind Woolshed Lane Sourdough
Leyla has been baking sourdough every day since the lockdowns back in 2020, when she decided to try baking bread in her spare time. Her neighbour gave her some starter, and what began as curiosity and a challenge quickly became a daily ritual that brought calm in a noisy, unpredictable world. The sourdough challenge soon turned into something she fell in love with and became obsessed with.
Clean food is important to her. It started with bread. She stopped eating supermarket bread years ago because of all the additives and chemicals. She wanted to go back to simple, wholesome food made the way it used to be.
After moving to Wamboin 12 months ago, Leyla wanted to establish her roots, align with nature and be part of the local community. She started getting requests for loaves of sourdough from friends and neighbours, and that’s when the idea for Woolshed Lane Sourdough slowly came into reality.
Woolshed Lane Sourdough, located in the heart of Wamboin, is small, local and personal, the kind of place where every loaf gets personal attention and customers are friends and neighbours. It’s her way of making honest, nourishing bread for her friends and family and the wider community.
That’s the heart of Woolshed Lane Sourdough. Every loaf is made the old‑fashioned way: natural ingredients and flour that’s grown close to home. Chemical‑free. Nothing fancy, nothing added, just honest bread and simple ingredients that nourish your body and feed your soul.
