Description
We are very excited to be hosting our Harvest Festival Launch Dinner at the newly opened Scrumpers Kitchen in Bungendore. Run by long-time Southern Harvest stalwart Ruth Gaha-Morris, Scrumpers Kitchen embodies the local food ethos with a produce-driven menu that highlights the very best food our region has to offer.
The theme of the 2024 festival is Co-operative Food which celebrates the transition of SHA to a co-operative. We’ve invited representatives of other local co-operatives to speak about the benefits of the co-op model and how their organisations contribute to local food in our region. Joining us will be the Braidwood Garlic Growers Co-op, the Canberra Seed Savers Co-op and The Canberra Food Co-op, which is Australia’s longest running co-op! As well as a representative from the Australian Co-op Federation.
The three course meal will be 100% locally sourced with a drink on arrival from the wonderful Sapling Yard wines or Capital Brewing Co. There is also the opportunity for tastings at the Sapling Yard cellar door, located next to the restaurant, prior to the dinner. There will also be a selection of seasonal and homemade non-alcoholic drinks available, and the option to purchase more drinks during the evening.
