Description

Creating Garden Structures From Recycled Materials

Learn about using recycled trampoline frames and other recycled materials for raised garden beds and garden structures, and help construct a strong fox and cockatoo/currawang/crow-proof enclosure for young hazelnut trees. This enclosure will also double as a duck yard. Some important prep work has already been done, and this will be explained as part of the workshop. The work will involve using drills and impact drivers to connect metal pieces, cutting metal, and working with wire netting and hardwood timber as well as steel.

Tanglewood is a permaculture inspired smallholding. It’s a sanctuary for animals, plants and people; we co-create spaces of beauty and productivity together with all of nature. Our motto is “learning growing caring sharing”, which aligns to the permaculture ethos of earth care, people care, fair share. We supply excess fruit and veggies (after sharing with friends) to Southern Harvest, and support other local producers by purchasing their products. A tour of the extensive gardens and existing structures that David has already made, will be included in the day. Lunch will be pot luck with everyone bringing something to share.
