Southern Harvest Truffle Long Lunch
with Turralla Truffles and Corang Estate Wines

The 2022 Truffle Season is in full swing!! Tuber melanosporum, black winter truffle, is available for a short time each year and our region provides the perfect conditions for their growth – higher altitudes, frosty mornings, sunny days and dry (generally) conditions. Southern Harvest is super excited to have a number of truffle growers in our membership and also to be able to facilitate the tasty local food event in Bungendore.
Damian from Turalla Truffles near Bungendore, who’s truffle adventures have become a thing of legend, will be cooking for you a four course long lunch that features mountains of black truffle. The secret to cooking with and eating truffle is to ‘let the truffle shine!’ To this end, Damian will be using the best quality local ingredients to support the truffles but not compete for flavour. Featured will be local dairy, handmade pasta, breads, fresh vegetables from our local farmers, new season olive oil and more.
Included with your meal will be a glass of Corang Estate wine. Corang Estate capture the very best of our Southern NSW cool climate wine region. Sourcing fruit from key vineyards in Tumbarumba, Hilltops, Canberra District and of course their own vineyard near the Corang River. This provides them with a diversity and flexibility to capture the essence of this special region. Jill or Michael from Corang Estate will be onsite to provide wine and talk discuss with us the wines they produce. A glass of wine is included with your ticket price. If you would like to buy more it will be available by the bottle or glass.
As if all this were not enough, there will also be a chance to meet the truffle dog and Damian will talk us through the Truffle growing, harvesting and cooking process through out the meal. Before you leave, you will be able to buy fresh truffle and other truffle products, as well as Corang Estate wines to take home.
