Employment Type: Casual, up to 10 hrs per week, hours will fluctuate depending on the availability of other staff and volunteers schedule. Remuneration as per The General Retail Industry Award 2020
About Southern Harvest Cooperative
Southern Harvest Cooperative is a farmer-led, community-driven local food and farming cooperative. Our Bungendore Community Store provides a welcoming space where local farmers and producers can showcase their goods, and where consumers can access ethical, seasonal, and locally grown products.

About the Role
We're seeking a passionate, organised, and community-minded Store Coordinator to manage operations at the Southern Harvest Community Store in Bungendore. This is a flexible, part-time position with a mix of in-store and remote work, supported by a close-knit team of staff and volunteers.
As Store Coordinator, you'll be responsible for creating a vibrant and organised retail space that highlights the seasonal offerings of our local farmers and producers, while helping strengthen community engagement with the cooperative's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Create an inviting, well-organised shopping environment that reflects the cooperative's values and showcases local seasonal produce.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and liaise with suppliers in collaboration with the Products Manager.
- Work with the Communications Manager to promote new products, special offers, and seasonal highlights through social media, newsletters, and local outreach.
- Oversee staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage budgets and pursue cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor and assess the success of new and existing products.
- Support volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, permit, and insurance requirements.
- Seek out grants and funding opportunities to support store activities.
About You
You're a practical multitasker who thrives in a dynamic community setting. You enjoy connecting with people, keeping things organised, and celebrating local producers.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in retail coordination, management, or similar roles.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and social media platforms.
- Flexibility to work both from home and on-site in Bungendore.
- Basic Food Handling Certificate.
Desirable:
- Experience working with cooperatives, not-for-profits, or community organisations.
- Interest in local food systems, regenerative agriculture, or sustainability.
