The Southern Harvest Farmer’s Markets in Bungendore would like to invite you to a celebration of the Ngambri people, the traditional custodians of the land on which Bungendore was built. We are honoured to have Ngambri Elder, Shane Mortimer, lead a ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony and give a talk about Ngambri knowledge, and traditions, including Bungendore’s native food, seasons, and important areas in our landscape. ‘Welcome to Country’ will start at 10am, with Shane’s talk immediately after.

Curious about Australian native food? Come and enjoy a delicious breakfast treat beforehand with a cooking demonstration by Chef Christophe Gregoire of Le Tres Bon, who will be cooking bunya nut milk crepes with lemon myrtle and lemon berry sugar creme. The native food is provided by Bent Shed Produce and the demonstration starts at 9am.

While you are there, why not have a browse through the Farmer’s Markets, and chat with Bungendore’s local food producers.

‘Welcome to Weereewaa’ will be held on Saturday 19 November at the Bungendore Farmer’s Markets, Anglican Church Hall, Butmaroo Street, Bungendore. See you there!
