Celebrate Fair Food Week on Saturday 15th October with a dinner menu full of seasonal, local and chemical free produce sourced from producers across the Capital Region.

Southern Harvest Association has been working hard to grow fresh food producers across the ACT and Southern NSW through education, community building, and our local farmers market in Bungendore.  What better way to showcase the diversity and quality of food available than with a dinner of locally sourced ingredients.

“There is a growing interest across the Capital Region in people wanting to know where our food comes from and how it is produced.  Eating food sourced directly from the farmer or producer empowers people to make informed choices about what they feed their family, supports our local communities and has environmental benefits,” said Colin McLean, President of Southern Harvest Association.

Proceeds from the Fair Food Dinner will support the Southern Harvest Association in its’ mission to promote our regional food industry.

Fair Food Week is coordinated by the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance, to support the Peoples’ Food Plan, Australia’s Fair Food Week shines a light on our new story of food. Over the week — 16-23 October 2016 — various activities will be held across Australia.  Our Fair Food Dinner is the only event to be held in the Capital Region.
