Homegrown Me is a Canberra startup that is helping the local food industry in so many ways.  We’ve asked Homegrown Me to tell us a little more about the business.   If you like what you read, we encourage you to delve deeper by visiting their website or Facebook page…

It’s a pleasure to be writing my first blog for the Southern Harvest Association. There’s been a fair bit happening in the Homegrown Me space, from starting up the online marketplace earlier last year to establishing Canberra’s first pop up commercial kitchen late last year. No rest for the wicked was a popular saying in my family growing up as a child. Homegrown Me has been steadily growing into something special and it’s been an absolute pleasure to meet so many amazing people who are passionate about food, supporting other producers and food businesses and making a positive impact on our food system.

Over the next few months we will be kicking up the podcasts again, visiting different food festivals and markets, working with business groups on how they can become more active in supporting local producers and government bodies to streamline regulations and reduce red tape.
